Career Summary

Steve is an experienced HR professional having worked in the industry for over 20 years, across a variety of sectors, including Finance, Technology, Online Service providers, Travel and Not-for-Profit.

Steve started his career in the Not-for-Profit sector as a HR Associate working for a private healthcare organisation, in Cheshire. During this time, Steve also studied for his CIPD qualification, successfully gaining both full CIPD Membership and a Masters degree in Human Resources Management.

Having completed his studies, Steve relocated to London to undertake an HR Project Advisor role at Lastminute.com, gaining valuable experience in the online travel sector. On completion of the project, Steve spent 14 years working in the Financial Services (FinTech) sector, working in a number of HR roles at Lehman Brothers Investment Bank and CMC Markets. Steve worked across a number of senior HR roles, with many having an international remit, including spending a year working in Sydney (Australia).

During this time, Steve worked with all levels of employees across both front and back-office departments. This included being a member of the Group Executive Committee and partnering with Board Directors, leadership teams and Non-Executive Directors. Key responsibilities included, change management projects, workforce planning, mediation/dispute resolution, HR Advice and Support, HR systems implementation, recruitment/talent management, employer relations (including assistance in tribunal hearings) and culture/engagement initiatives.

At the end of 2019, Steve took the plunge and set up his own HR consultancy business, supporting SMEs to deliver results through People, including supporting and advising on change management, employment law, mediation, recruitment, exit agreements (including redundancy) performance management, implementing new policies/handbooks and standardising contractual terms & conditions.

In 2020, Steve also successfully completed an HR Consultants Certification Programme.
