Cathy recognised the importance of developing people during her early career in retail management. She moved into learning and development in earnest 18 years ago.
Her first learning and developing role was with ntl where she worked her way through delivering contact centre induction programmes, moving to developing contact centre staff in the ‘softer skills’ and finally focusing on leadership and management development. She left ntl after 4 years to work as a Freelance Training Consultant.
The next 8 years were spent working with a variety of organisations including ntl, Barclays, United Utilities, Scottish Power, various Borough Councils, Department for Works and Pensions and several Primary Care Trusts. During this time Cathy moved to Spain, renovating and converting an old house into a bed and breakfast, whilst continuing to commute to the UK and Jersey to carry out freelance work.
Her next step was to work with BAE Systems (submarines) as an executive coach along with the design and delivery of group and individual learning events in line with business strategy. After 12 months she moved to Warton to work for BAE Systems (Military Air and Information) as Lead Training Specialist.
Over the next five and a half years Cathy provided consultancy at a senior level across a diverse business to ensure effective outcomes. She designed and delivered creative, affordable, development solutions that added significant value. She became the executive coach of choice and also won the EMEA Skillsoft Inspire Award 2015 for Best Learning Project for the design and development of an innovative, blended learning programme for first line leaders.
Cathy left BAE at the end of 2015 to start her own learning and development consultancy business.
